Ancient Shog was the leader of the Thul, and one of the last remaining survivors of that race. He was driven both by his loyalty to his creators, the Il'Ri'Kamm Hive Mind, and later to their enemies, the Kamir, and his own personal quest to find a means to perpetuate his reproductively-challenged species. It is believed that Shog died when Daneel Olivaw reversed the Moebius Effect on Earth.

abstract
  • Ancient Shog was the leader of the Thul, and one of the last remaining survivors of that race. He was driven both by his loyalty to his creators, the Il'Ri'Kamm Hive Mind, and later to their enemies, the Kamir, and his own personal quest to find a means to perpetuate his reproductively-challenged species. Shog was a truly wretched, disgusting creature. Covered in slime and crawling with bugs, he spoke in a gurgling, slurping, shlorping sort of way, and it was difficult to encounter Shog without becoming covered in his filth. It was Shog who oversaw the abduction of adolescents from Sanctuary and performed experiments on them; it was Shog who ultimately helped Sanctuary return home in exchange for the frozen bodies of Lord Fagin and Dimitri Volstov, the latter of whom he transformed into the revolting half-human, half Thul creature named Voshtov. Shog was also behind the spread of the Thul Resequencing Virus, or TRV, and the Moebius Effect Crisis. He also was allied with the Moebius Universe's Colin Neidermeyer, and provided him technology in the Crystal Cathedral that allowed him to remain hidden from the Nall invasion that was intended to put down his rule. It is believed that Shog died when Daneel Olivaw reversed the Moebius Effect on Earth.
