Bombings and riots were commonplace during this violent history, but Damien's parents were adamant about bringing up their only son as a true Catholic, and took a dim view of the violence against them by their own people. | - Damien Croft was born in Belfast, Ireland in the mid 60's during the height of the IRA Split. Bombings and riots were commonplace during this violent history, but Damien's parents were adamant about bringing up their only son as a true Catholic, and took a dim view of the violence against them by their own people. Unfortunately, at the age of 6 in 1970, when the Provisional IRA declared a 30 year war on the British, both of his parents were killed by a bomb that was planted in the United States Embassy. For a brief period, Damien was placed in an orphanage, since he had no known relatives, or siblings. But when he turned 10 years old, 4 years after his parent's death, he recieved startling news, and the reason why his parents were at the US Embassy on the day of their deaths. They had submitted an application for Damien to become an American Citizen, and were in the process of sending him to the USA....and away from the turmoil that encompassed Ireland. Damien vowed on the day that he boarded a plane to United States, that he would never again lose those things that are most precious to him, by those that believed they knew what was best for him.
