Chokepods are toxic floating bulbs. Ranging in size from a softball to a beach ball, they are brown and black and almost spherical, with tops that are somewhat pinched. When touched, these fibrous balls burst and release a lethal gas that travels through the respiratory system or is absorbed through the skin. The toxins gradually liquefy the body until even the remains vaporize into fumes that are absorbed by other chokepods. Anyone in the vicinity of a ruptured pod is sure to suffer death.
