The Tin man costume, also known as the Tin woodman, Tin woodsman, or rarely as the Nick Chopper costume is not a very scary costume but it is a very popular one for Halloween. It is based on the Tin Woodman character from the Oz series of books by L. Frank Baum, but it rarely appears in any other form than that seen in the iconic movie classic version of The Wizard of Oz from 1939. It is usually worn by men and boys. See the article on Tin Woodman on Fandom's Oz wiki.

A more unique version of the character costume involves the wearer dressing like the character Wyatt Cain, AKA "Tin Man" seen in the Syfy Channel miniseries, Tin Man. However, doing so the wearer must understand they most likely will not be recognizable by others who are not familiar with the show as he is not an actual tin man but a human law enforcement officer.
