The Central Railway & Electric Company was a streetcar operator in New Britain, Connecticut. It was incorporated in 1886. In 1899 it was sold to the Connecticut Light & Power Co., (which in 1901 became Connecticut Railway & Lighting Co.). From 1906 to 1936, its routes were among those leased by CR&L to The Connecticut Company. In 1936, along with all other CR&L routes, the leases on its routes were voided for nonpayment.
