| Synopsis
| - Traveling to the South Pacific, Adam Strange has to brave the fury of a waterspout in order to intercept the Zeta-Beam that will transport him to the planet Rann. Arriving on his adoptive home-world, he finds that Alanna is nowhere to greet him, however her flier comes to pick him up and takes him to a pre-programed location. This location being ancient ruins where it appears statues have come to life.
Although the statues attempt to restrain him, Adam finds them easy to destroy but is overwhelmed by their sheer number. Taking him captive Adam is taken before an living atom, called Nimar the Wanderer. Nimar explains that he has come to Rann to make it yet another planet that calls him master. Nimar tells Adam that he was found by Alanna and took her captive, and she had explained that Adam is the champion of Rann. Returning Alanna to Nimar, he instructs accept the challenge for the fate of Rann.
Allowed to return to Ranagar City, Adam and Alanna help mobilize an attack force to keep Nimar's inanimate soldiers at bay while Adam and Alanna attempt to find a way to stop Nimar. Returning to Nimar's camp, the two attack the creature to no avail. Nimar, disappointed by the attack threatens to bombard Alanna with radioactivity while his soldiers hold Adam at bay. At the last second, Adam orders Nimar to back away, and amazingly, the creature complies. He then orders Nimar to make his soldiers stop attacking.
Adam explains that since Nimar could only effect inanimate object, perhaps a being of high intelligence would be able to control Nimar. Since this plan worked, Adam tells Nimar to remain in the ruins of Illsomar until order released.
With Nimar entering an eternal slumber, the Zeta-Ray wears off and Adam is returned to Earth.
