Dies ist auch der Grund dafür, dass Banjo und Conker nicht mehr im Spiel dabei sind, statt ihnen sind Dixie Kong und Tiny Kong im Spiel vertretten. Allerdings ist noch eine Figur aus dem Banjo-Universum im Spiel enthalten, nämlich Tiptup.

Es fällt ins Auge dass auch ein Kremling, Krunch im Spiel auftaucht. Das Spiel hat jedoch nur wenig bzw. garnicht etwas mit King K. Rool zutun. Das Prinzip des Spieles ist, dass die Kongs um Hilfe gerufen werden, um die Heimatinsel ihrer Freunde und ihre Bewohner von Wipzig zu befreien.
