Trowbaggs was an eager and fun-loving young hare of the Long Patrol under Lady Cregga Rose Eyes. Due to his eagerness and sometimes carelessness, Trowbaggs was often disciplined by his officers, and he tended to cause them much grief and concern. He would often fail to march in time, sing when he should have been quiet, and even played with his sword just because he was happy. His recklessness also led to his being wounded during the Battle of the Ridge of a Thousand by an 'unsporting' vermin, but fortunately it was not too serious. Luckily, Shangle Widepad was around to show young hare the ropes and Trowbaggs helped the older veteran when he hurt his paw.

Trowbaggs was among four hares sent out to look for Lady Cregga while she was overcome by the Bloodwrath; he was a good tracker and helper.
