If the Dovahkiin decides to join the Stormcloaks, Ulfric will introduced them to Galmar, who will instruct him/her to slay an Ice Wraith located at the Serpent Stone near the College of Winterhold. Once they complete the task, Galmar will officially induct the Dragonborn into the Stormcloaks, and give them the official armor of the rebels. He will then tell the Dragonborn to meet him outside Korvanjund, there they will obtain the Jagged Crown the official talisman of the High King of Skyrim. Alternatively, the Dragonborn can join the Imperial Legion and eliminate him at the battle of Windhelm.

He will also be the one tasked to giving the Dragonborn the jobs of attacking Imperial controlled holds until only Solitude remains, there, he will join up with Ulfric Stormcloak and the Dragonborn at Castle Dour where they confront and kill General Tellius and Legate Rikke. Afterwards, he is given the task of maintaining the new army of the the newly independent sovereign state. Alternatively, the Dragonborn can join the Imperial Legion and eliminate him at the battle of Windhelm.
