After Richter's body was brought to NCIS for an autopsy with Donald Mallard and Gerald Jackson having finished performing an autopsy on the victim, McNeil, now "Jane Doe", having developed amnesia after being buried alive in a grave later arrived down to the morgue, accompanied by Agent Caitlin Todd who hoped that it would help Doe/McNeil remember something about her past. However, upon seeing the body, Doe/McNeil had a flashback of herself and Richter in the hotel room, having a meeting before she killed him. Upon realizing that she would be possibly arrested, Doe/McNeil then lied to Kate, saying that she felt sorry for the victim and hadn't experienced any other flashbacks before leaving the morgue much to Kate's dismay.
