Arguably his most famous acting role is that of Chrissie Todd in Boys From The Blackstuff, though he has also appeared in episodes of Minder, G.B.H, The Liver Birds and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Michael also narrated the animated children's series Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends from 1991 onwards, taking over from Ringo Starr. He was at one time married to Coronation Street actress Helen Worth, who plays Gail McIntyre.
