The "developed" countries of the world can almost all be characterised or associated with the word "comfort." One of the biggest lessons we have learned in recent years is that, while nobody deserves to die because of someone else's rage, neither do they deserve to die because of someone else's comfortable lifestyle. Our sense of urgency should come directly from the thought of someone else suffering at the cost of our comfort. We don't actually need to make others suffer or die in order to live. Survival in nature is based on cooperation, not competition.
