Karnei Shomron is now actually made up of a group of several previously independent Israeli settlements that were united in 1991: * Karnei Shomron - established in 1977 and now includes about 450 families, * Ginot Shomron - established in 1984 and now includes about 850 families, * Neve Menachem - established in 1991 and now includes about 220 families, as well as newer neighbourhoods called Alonei Shilo (1999, 25 families and a large girls midrasha), Mitzpe Tzvaim, and Ramat Gil'ad.
