| - Jim McGuirk is a former NASCAR driver from Vero Beach, FL. He competed in nine Nextel Cup Series events in his career. McGuirk's debut came in 1959, when he finished a career-best 47th in points. His first race came down in Daytona, finishing 32nd in the Daytona 500 Qualifier event before finishing a solid 23rd in the inaugural Daytona 500. He wasn't too shabby the rest of the year, either, finishing a career-best 11th place at Atlanta and 23rd at Wilson. McGuirk's next start came in 1962, when he again competed in the Speedweeks festivies in Daytona. Starting 13th in the Daytona 500 Qualifier event, McGuirk kept out of trouble to finish 14th and again transfer into the Daytona 500. There he was running well until a late engine issue derailed him to 24th. McGuirk's final three races came in 1963, and all happened again at Daytona. This time, McGuirk struggled mightily in Speedweeks, finishing 29th of thirty-one in his Qualifier event and then struggling to 38th after getting a wild-card slot into the Daytona 500. But McGuirk atoned for his struggles in the July event, finishing in 12th.
