| - Until winter 1222 Phaedrus resides in one of the buildings erected as a future home for covenfolk. There is nothing fancy about it and he spends most of his time outdoors working on some project or reading/writing in the scriptorium. As of winter 1222 Phaedrus deems his future residence on the third regiolevel ready enough to start setting up his lab and moving in. The house is located close to the Regio entrance and set on bedrock and there are several circles inlaid into the living rock at strategic possitions, including one surounding the whole structure. As with most houses in the covenant Phaedrus residence has a cellar where most of the building material has been queried. The foundation of the building is hexagonal with a circle of solid bedrock in the middle as foundation for the laboratory proper and it's butresed 2 feet thick heavy stone walls, leaving a 15' radius area for the lab. (Phaedrus once vitnessed the result of a violent lab explosion and since he is constructing things from the ground up, he'll prepare for the worst.) Outside of the lab all auxiliary functions of the building, like sleeping and recieving areas and basement is placed in rooms radiating out from the lab. There is also two storage compartments and an antechamber for trying out spells in direct connection to the laboratory proper. The entrance to the building is set with a dual door, a big door, large enough for two to enter side by side, with a normal size door inside. The lesser door is almost always open, the room inside is protected from wind and rain by spells anchored on a ring in the floor under the larger door. From the outside the most noteworthy feature of the house is the glass dome covering the laboratory that overlooks the six slightly inward sloping barrelroofs. The glass bricks for this has been made one by one in the hottest part of the forge since the forge got operational and by winter 1222 it is almost finished, the scafolding for the upper third is still vissible under its temporary cower. When the dome is finally finished there will be a nice gallery there, and some time in the future building blocks of clear glass instead of the semi opaque once used now. This yields a laboratory of: 706 sqft base + 377 sqft in a 4 feet wide gallery + 70 sqft in two protected stores + 100 sqft spell trials area Total: 1256 sqft. size +4 The building is placed in a circle of leveled ground 90' in diameter west - north west of the regio entrance with a few feet to spare before the steep side begins. (Draw a line from Ambrosius building to Mnemosynes tower and a cros throught the Regio entrence, the leveled ground is to the left and touches the cros from Ambrosius side.)
