The Mold Mines is a location that appears in the cartoon show episode "Hopping Cough Smurfs". It is where Miner, Vanity, and Farmer have traveled to in order to get the penicillium mold to complete the cure for the "hopping cough". Although the entrance to the mine looks sinister, there is nothing in the mines that is particularly dangerous. Gargamel tried to stop the three Smurfs by pushing a boulder onto them when they were inside the mines collecting the mold, but Vanity spotted Azrael with his mirror and warned his fellow Smurfs so that they avoided danger before Gargamel fell along with the boulder.
