The Shrine of Honor was one of the seven Shrines of Bushido, built at City of Honor's Sacrifice shortly after Ikoma Arimi, the ill-fated and infamous samurai-ko, took the life of her lover and her own in this city. An image of the woman stood in an open area behind the shrine, and zealous Lion bushi visited the shrine to throw stones at her. The monks who maintained the shrine encouraged this, and often allowed samurai to recount transgressions against their own honor to the monk. They assigned some tasks to the samurai to help remove the burden from his soul, and performed a small ritual of cleansing upon him.
