The Cry of Love (officially known as The Jimi Hendrix Experience) was a band comprising guitarist/singer/songwriter Jimi Hendrix, drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox. Formed in New York in March 1970 after the breakup of the Band of Gypsys, the band were active for six months until Hendrix's death in September.
