Shane Lawrence, nicknamed "Kitty", was one member of a stag night party that called into the Rovers in April 2016 to celebrate the forthcoming wedding of their friend Gareth. As well as imbibing plenty of pints, they also worked their way alphabetically through the shorts, reaching G for Grappa when it came to Kitty's turn to go to the bar. Mary Taylor optimistically told him that it was possible to enjoy oneself without "the demon drink" and suggested party games or a rousing sing-song as an acceptable alternative. Kitty wasn't impressed and told her to pass one of the poured pints to the groom - "Big G".

| - Shane Lawrence, nicknamed "Kitty", was one member of a stag night party that called into the Rovers in April 2016 to celebrate the forthcoming wedding of their friend Gareth. Later on, hearing that he was called "Kitty" by his friends, Mary likened the puzzled lad to the writer and illustrator Kit Williams and his 1979 book Masquerade, saying that both she and her mother were big fans. Shane put her right - he told her his real name and that he was called Kitty by the group as he had been carrying round the cash kitty since 2006. He offered her a drink from it and that was the start of several rounds which got Mary thoroughly drunk and which saw her wearing one of the stag t-shirts and being prevented from joining them at a lap-dancing club by Erica Holroyd. Credited as "Kitty", the character's real name was given in dialogue.
