| - Enrico Ricardo "Rico" De Santa (b. 7 May, 1967) was a Southern Italian Squib and brother to Donatello De Santa, therefore uncle to his kids, Pietro and Marco. Born into the De Santa family, an old and proud but small pure-blood family, Rico was a surprise for Domenico and his wife, Giulia, as they had been unsuccessful in conceiving a child after his brother, Donatello, but hoped he would become a powerful wizard alongside his brother and bring the family back from the brink of extinction. When Donatello had voiced his intention to marry a muggle-born witch, his parents had shunned him, although never formally disowned him. Rico was then looked on as the heir to the family, although it was discovered when he was six years old that he was a squib. Unlike Donatello, Rico was outright disowned from the family and sought shelter with his brother, who happily took him into his home. However, Donatello died in late-1980, but his wife, Carmela, assured Rico that he would still be allowed to stay with her family. All was well until around the time Carmela had become engaged to Antoine Maximoff, a New Zealand-born Romanian author. Not too long afterwards, Rico's parents died in a house fire, and the Southern Italian Aurors had apparently connected Rico to the incident. Although being hid by Carmela, the pressure mounting on Rico combined with him overhearing Antoine saying he was considering giving him up to the authorities had prompted Rico to disappear from the Magical World in the early hours of October 7, 1985. Homeless in the streets of Muggle Naples, Rico turned to crime to survive, leading him to spend various stints in prison. In 1987, he snuck onto a cargo ship to New York City, where he once again consorted with the various criminal elements within the city in order to hopefully make a living, racking up quite a rap sheet. Rico was finally found by his nephew Pietro in 1992, living in poverty in the South Bronx while working at a deli. Informing him that his name was eventually cleared from any wrong doing in the death of his parents, Rico was successfully convinced by Pietro to return with him back to South Italy, where he once again went to live with Antoine and Carmela. Although some friction between him and Antoine remained, Carmela had welcomed him back with open arms. As his parents died without naming an heir, Carmela had successfully gotten Pietro to be given the De Santa estate, claimable upon his seventeenth birthday. Rico married British journalist Clara Littleton and with her, had a son; Stefano Pietro De Santa, who upon becoming an adult, was named the Head of the Most Serene House of De Santa by Pietro.
