Buffet tables were first introduced in The Sims: House Party, and were reintroduced in The Sims: Vacation and The Sims: Superstar. Buffet tables can be placed on both residential and community lots. On a residential lot, Sims can grab plates from the table for free, but the table must be stocked first; a §100 fee is charged when a Sim fills the table. Once filled, the table must be cleared before it can be restocked. Sims can also hire a caterer that costs more, but will restock the buffet tables for free, and will continually refill the table even when it is not empty. On community lots, buffet tables are always fully stocked, but Sims are charged §25 for any plate they grab from the table.

- Filled with delicious delicacies sure to tempt Sims' palates, this buffet table will be the hit of any party. It's festive, colorful and comes with built in food warming devices by BTR Hot Inc. Short of putting out the food and cleaning up the dishes, it's nearly self-sufficient.
- Who wants to cook when they're on vacation? Only the germ obsessed...that's why even the most skilled gourmet chefs will relish bellying up to this easy-feed buffet bar. Endless mountains of fried treats, sugared delicacies, and carbo-creations will keep Sims' stomachs - and resort coffers - topped off. Designed by ClubLanzhou chef Chow Sum Phat.
- Take on any hungry crowd with this festively themed winter holiday buffet table!
- Renowned culinary enthusiast Gerhardt von Foodenschnutz decried the lack of surfaces that could support not one, not two, but more than that amount for food. Von Foodenschnutz wanted a way to show off everything he and his guests wanted to eat. While walking along a particularly lengthy flat surface, he had his eureka. The Banquetia Plateau, perfect for serving food to large parties!
- When the Dark Midnight End Table isn't large enough to hold all your spooktacular treats, turn to the buffet table. However, don't let the "happy" ghost fool you. He is only smiling because he is about to scare you.
- With the ability to showcase numerous dishes at once, this table is just what your Sim needs for his or her next sophisticated soirée. Showcase your Sim's "Around the World in Foodie Days" appetizer spread or just throw down some Mac and Cheese and be done with it. No matter the level of effort put into the actual food, this table will make your repast look like gourmet dining!
- When commissioned to build this table, we focused on great portions of delicious food - the surface taking a back seat. Recycled dough, extra firm walnuts and neglected smoothies are the ingredients of this table, the pioneer effort in the burgeoning field of culinary engineering. Eat up... just don't lean on it too heavily!

abstract
| - Buffet tables were first introduced in The Sims: House Party, and were reintroduced in The Sims: Vacation and The Sims: Superstar. The buffet table provides five kinds of dishes — a salad, a quick meal, a regular meal of beans and steak, a turkey meal, and a cake. Players can control what meal Sims get from the table by clicking on different parts of the table: clicking on the left side of the table will provide a salad, the middle section a main course, and the right side a dessert. All dishes deplete the buffet table equally on a residential lot, and cost the same on a community lot, regardless of what was taken. Thus, a Sim who wishes to fully replenish their hunger bar should grab meals from the middle of the table for the best value, rather than from the sides. Food on buffet tables will eventually spoil, unless a caterer is present. Food on the buffet table will never spoil on community lots, although plates removed from the table will still spoil separately. All buffet tables have a hunger rating of 4.
