  • Katherine Jenkins was born in Pfathzburg, Hulstria in 2318 to Welsh-Dranians who had fled their homeland during Operation Ethnic Cleanse in 2311. Like most such refugees her parents were active supporters of the Refuge Pressure Party and Katherine soon entered political life early as a junior member of the Refuge X (The RPP's youth wing). She was quickly singled out as nothing short of a genius. At just 7 years of age she was outmanovering experienced political minds in discussions.

  • Katherine Jenkins (born 29 June 1980) is a Welsh lyric mezzo-soprano. She is a popular classical-crossover singer who performs across a spectrum of operatic arias, popular songs, musical theatre and hymns. After winning singing competitions in her youth, Jenkins studied at the Royal Academy of Music, modelled and taught voice. She came to wide public attention in 2003 when she sang atWestminster Cathedral in honour of Pope John Paul II's silver jubilee. Since 2004, she has released numerous albums that have performed well on British and foreign charts. In both 2005 and 2006, her albums received Classic Brit Awards as Album of the Year. She has also been seen widely in concert, including concerts for British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and has sung at sporting events, on television shows and in support of many charities. In Spring 2012, she competed on the US television show Dancing with the Stars, finishing in second place, behind NFL Super Bowl champion Donald Driver.
  • She claimed on the 10 December 2010 edition of The Graham Norton Show that she had been approached by the Doctor Who production team because the "part is an acting part, but there's also singing involved". Having no experience with acting, she believed that her audition would be "rubbish". However, they rang her back on her thirtieth birthday and told her she had won the role. Prior to this she had also appeared on Emmerdale, but not in an acting capacity. Between 19 March and 22 May 2012, Jenkins competed in the 14th season of the American dance competition series Dancing with the Stars which served to introduce her to a wider audience outside the UK. Consistently an audience and judge's favourite, Jenkins overcame a minor back problem in the final week of competition to come in second to NFL football player Donald Driver at the conclusion of the competition.

Her albums have topped the charts each time they have appeared, and she has partnered with such singers as Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, and Jackie Evancho. Katherine Jenkins has also had minor acting roles in shows such as Emmerdale. Her major acting role was in the 2010 Doctor Who Christmas Special "A Christmas Carol," in which she played a terminally ill singer with whom Scrooge Expy Kazran Sardick falls in love. At the end of the episode, she sang "Silence is All You Know," a song devised by Murray Gold. Katherine Jenkins also has a reputation as a Glamorous Wartime Singer, regularly performing for the troops. In 2005, when she was flying to a British base in Iraq, her helicopter was attacked by rockets, but the pilot deployed flares and Katherine was able to arrive and sing. She is currently engaged to TV presenter Gethin Jones.
