In the movie, Kolo often got himself into trouble. He had been in contact with giraffes, honey badgers, ground squirrels, tortoises, cape cobras, several species of birds and even lions. Kolo often needed rescuing by his favourite older brother. At one point, in the documentary, when Kolo was older, he was seperated from his family during a vicious battle with a rival gang of meerkats. Relying on skills learnt from his brother, Kolo spent a long period of time alone, trying to survive in the Kalahari, until he was able to find his family again. After being reuinited, Kolo proved to be a great sentry and successor of his older brother. It is possible that Kolo is still alive today.
