Tomas Vivar was the Count of Mouromorto, and the elder brother of Major Blas Vivar. He was one of the minority of Spanish citizens who became anfrancesados, who supported Napoleon's invasion of Spain. His brother reported that he owned three properties; a house in the city of Orense, a house in the country, and an abandoned castle, to which Sharpe an his Riflemen were taken by Blas Vivar after they escaped from Colonel Pierre De l'Eclin and his Dragoons, along with Count of Mouromorto. Tomas Vivar was killed his younger brother during the asault upon Santiago de Compostela.
