| - The Rings of Mariposa were mentioned in the story Second Sunrise over New Mombasa in the Halo: Graphic Novel. It is therefore likely to be a planetary gas giant. At some point in time, "the 6th Battle Group outmaneuvered and escaped" what was presumably a Covenant fleet near the Mariposa.
- The Mariposa was Admiral Benden's private shuttle that was brought down to Pern from the Yokohama. - Mariposa was a class M planet in or near the Ficus sector, and the site of a Human colony world founded in the early 22nd century. It was presumably named for the settlers' ship, the SS Mariposa, and the settlers became known as Mariposans. The USS Enterprise-D visited Mariposa in 2365, having been told of the colony's existence by the survivors of Bringloid V. After learning that the Mariposans were at risk of dying out soon, it was agreed that the Bringloidi would be resettled on Mariposa as well. (TNG episode: "Up the Long Ladder")
