ACS:Law was a U.K. law firm best known for filing numerous lawsuits against alleged copyright infringers using peer-to-peer file sharing technology. After hundreds of complaints were filed with the Solicitors Regulation Authority about the conduct of ACS:Law, an investigation was launched and a Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal was set up. ACS:Law was also under investigation by the U.K. Information Commissioner's Office for alleged breaches of the Data Protection Act 1998 due to the names and addresses of people accused by the firm being posted on their website after a DDoS attack.
