The Clue-By-Four was a 1.5-meter-long wooden plank that was owned by Gunnery Sergeant Tuffass, a Gand drill instructor in the Republic Marine Corps. The plank was used for intimidation purposes and had the words "Clue-By-Four" engraved in Aurebesh along its length. When not brandishing the board in front of his recruits, Tuffass generally kept the Clue-By-Four in his office, leaned against his desk. After his retirement in 3,949 BBY, Tuffass donated the Clue-By-Four to the local post of the Veterans of Galactic Wars on Corulag, where it was mounted in the meeting hall.
