- The Hajen-class Fleet Tender is a vital part of the New Republic's New Class program. While New Class ships are capable combatants, they are also relatively small and sacrifice cargo space for functionality, preventing them from carrying enough supplies to operate for extended periods of time; no New Class ship carries more than five months' worth of consumables. Hajen-class fleet tenders act as resupply ships to extend a fleet's running time. As resupply vessels, Hajen-class ships have to constantly shuttle between fleets and bases, carrying vital supplies, such as food, water, fuel, spare parts, and Tibanna gas. To perform their mission, these ships are equipped with fast Class 0.9 hyperdrives and are capable of carrying 300,000 metric tons of cargo. Hajen-class ships are highly automated, requiring a small living crew of only six to operate, who are supplemented by a large number of droids. A mere two people can serve as a skeleton crew if needed. The vessels are completely unarmed, and rely on ships such as the Sacheen-class Light Escort for protection.
