She is seen as a radical by most Lookshy DBs because of her views of the Anathema; since she has never met a Celestial Exalt fitting the description of a demon, she has no reason to think that is what they are. Her first encounter with Largo was not in the arena, but in one of Gem's many taverns. She was working there as a dancer in order to increase her traveling funds. She fought Largo in the final match of a coliseum tournament in Gem and won, though just barely. After refusing to kill Largo, the Dragon-Blood in charge, named Cathak Aris (now deceased) ordered for both of them to be killed. Largo and Ember valiantly fought off their would-be killers and slew Aris, greatly impressing the audience (apparently no one was that fond of Aris). After the match was declared a tie, at Ember's request, she and Largo split the winnings. She asked him if she could travel with him, but he declined with his usual grunt. Slightly disappointed, she told Largo that if she was ever in trouble, she'd "call" him. Last seen traveling with a mute heroic mortal guitarist known only as Capo, their whereabouts are currently unknown.
