The six Yook Ro taekwondo forms were derived from the Muye Dobo Tongji, an ancient Korean combat text, by Hwang Kee. (See reference.) The text itself does not completely describe these forms; rather, Kee expanded upon the information in the text to create each of these traditional taekwondo forms. * Yook Ro Cho Dan - Du Mun - The Great Gate * Yook Ro Ee Dan - Joong Jol - Cut the Middle * Yook Ro Sam Dan - Po Wol - Embrace the Moon * Yook Ro Sa Dan - Yang Pyun - High Whip * Yook Ro Oh Dan - Sal Chu - Killing Hammer * Yook Ro Yook Dan - Choong Ro - Seize and Capture
