The Ingzan Armouries BAR-87 Bolt action rifle (also known as the BAR Eight-Seven or just the Eight-Seven) was an Ingzan battle rifle and one of the standard battle rifles of the Ingzan-Bregaran Empire during the N'Akkiarlian-Bregaro war and the N'Akkiarlian-Ingzan War, along with the Tak-Ekke Model 1 bolt-action rifle. These weapons, like many Ingzan weapons could be found in the hands of the Bregarans, since the Ingza had given them weaponry since they were allies. Ingzan and Bregaran soldiers loved this rifle, they loved the ease of use, easy maintenance, accuracy and reliability of it. There were stories of BAR-87's being picked up covered in mud, sand and so on and working perfectly, the hard-hitting round of the rifle and its reliability also made it a favourite amongst N'Akkiarlian soldiers who used captured rifles. This rifle was the predecessor of the BASR-89 "Basser Eight-Nine" Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle. The only difference between the BAR-87 and the BASR-89 was that the BASR had had its iron sights removed and a scope added, this turned out to be good since Ingzan soldiers who trained on the BAR-87 could easily use the BASR-89, this saved having to teach them how to use a completely new weapon. The Imperial Marines used a shorter carbine variant of the BAR-87 called the "BAR-87/CAR" for use on close quarters fighting aboard enemy ships. The rifle was particularly common in the N'Akkiarlian Star Empire, many of the N'Akkiarlian military rifles having being surplused off to the civilian market, ammo for the rifle, both the original Ingzan round and the standard N'Akkiarlian round, was plentiful in N'Akkiarlian territories, many famous N'Akkiarlians owned BAR-87 rifles, Jyoznarr 'Burr-Hureg owned a BAR-87 Mk 2 which had been in his family for centuries, Bnezo 'Noni-Kvarrigarrtirakorr also owned one. Despite being tens of thousands of years old by the time of the Rebellion against the Ingzan-Bregaran Empire the BAR-87 was still the most common bolt-action rifle amongst the Ingzan-Bregaran and Dezendyan forces.
