Garrett didn't have such a good time in his lone 1952 outing, competing at Langhorne. Starting 35th in the field of forty-four, Garrett was involved with a crash near the mid-race point and struggled home to 36th. With one bad finish and one good finish to his credit, Garrett tipped the scales to the good side in his final career race, competing at his home track of Sharon. Garrett used his knowledge of the track, grabbing a career-best 7th place finish.
