The girl is revealed to be Tsubasa Kurenai, a former suitor to Ukyo Kuonji when she was pretending to be a guy. When Akane show Tsubasa that Ukyo is really a girl, Tsubasa claims that she already knew, and that she is only interested in girls. Tsubasa begins to show jealousy towards Ranma, who was Ukyo's true fiancĂ©. Tsubasa challenges Ranma to an okonomiyaki selling contest, and Tsubasa's charm is able to win over more customers. Before Ranma gives up, Ukyo reaffirms her engagement with Ranma and the distraught Tsubasa runs off. When Ranma goes to comfort her, Tsubasa falls in love with Ranma instead. Ranma becomes his male form and arrange a date with Tsubasa. However, on his arrival, Tsubasa shows no interest and in fact, is shown to hate guys. When Ranma is revealed to be both boy and a girl, Tsubasa decides to pursue Akane instead. Ranma tries to stop Tsubasa and end up tearing the clothes, revealing Tsubasa to have been a male all along. Ukyo states that she knew this already, and assumed that everyone else did as well.
