Virginia had three children originally, Michael, her oldest who died in World War I, and her two youngest children, Alice and William. She becomes close to her stepson, James. She is also friends with Lady Prudence Fairfax, the Bellamy family's oldest and dearest friend. After James commits suicide, Virginia and Richard leave London, after the house is sold and Richard's ward, Georgina Worsley married Robert, the Marquis of Stockbridge, and move to a more quiet life in Dorset. It was Richard and Virginia who gave Rose Buck a teapot for her many years of service to the Bellamy family.
