Solikamsk (Finn. Solikama) is the smallest of four Uralican settlements with city status, situated in the southeast corner of that nation. It lies outside the chernozem-soiled area however it is still an important hub in the wheat trade because of its position. It is also advantageously positioned in regards to the trade of marble and other rocks and minerals from the north. It is the home of Solikamsk Industrial Park, where iron, and several non-metallic rocks and minerals are processed. It was also once the centre of the Uralican marble trade, which has since given way to iron and silver mining.

Since it is so close to Berezniki, many people refer to the urban area as "Berezniki-Solikamsk," although there is a definitive gap in the urban areas. The connection drove the Uralican government to create the Solikamsk-Berezniki Unitary Authority in the late summer of 2009, which is the second-largest in area after Arkhangel'sk-Severodvinsk. Solikamsk is the most northerly of the three "major stops" along Highway UH-12, with Berezniki and Kungur being the other two.
