167th Street is a local station on the IND Concourse Line of the New York City Subway. It is similar to 170th Street in layout, having a full-time mezzanine and two part-time platform level fare control areas. The mezzanine side at far north end has four street staircases to 167th Street, one to each corner. Alongside the mezzanine are two winding staircases to the 167th Street underpass and was permanently closed for security reasons in 1993. There is no pedestrian access to the underpass from either side on street level. The part-time fare controls are at McClellan Street. The southbound side had a booth that was removed in 2003, while the northbound side is exit-only. Each part-time mezzanine has 1 street staircase.
