In the 1979 James Bond film Moonraker the laser pistol is made by the Drax Enterprise Corporation for security purpose of Drax's space station crew. In the film, the pistol is used by Drax's crew while they fight against the U.S. Marines. Dr. Goodhead use one to help the Marines. When Drax is trapped between Bond and the airlock door he manage to snatch one near one of his dead crew members and was about to kill Bond when Bond fires a poison dart from his wrist dart gun at Drax before sending Drax into space.
