Reverend Evan Daniel (1837 - 27 May 1904) was the principal of the Battersea Training College. Born in Pontypool, Monmouthshire, he was educated privately before being trained as schoolteacher at Battersea Training College. In 1859 he became lecturer in English Literature at the college, and was appointed vice principal in 1863. Also in 1863 he was ordained a priest and in 1866 became principal of the college and started to pursue a master's degree at Trinity College Dublin, graduating in 1870. From 1873 to 1879 he was a member of the London School Board representing Lambeth.

In 1859 he became lecturer in English Literature at the college, and was appointed vice principal in 1863. In 1879 he was made an honorary canon of Rochester Cathedral by Bishop Anthony Thorold: Battersea lying in the diocese at that time. In 1881 he became visiting lecturer in practical education at Cambridge University. He retired from the college in 1894, and was appointed vicar of Horsham in Sussex. He continued his work in education as a co-opted member of the education committee of West Sussex County Council. He died in Horsham after a long illness in 1904, aged 66.
