The way we deal with the character articles must be much different from the episode articles. In my opinion, the way we organize the characters on the wiki is the messiest of all aspects of the wiki. I have come up with a multi-step process that will address the following: * Layout of character articles * Layout of character lists * Definitions of main, major, and minor characters * Sourcing the names of minor background characters

In my opinion, the way we organize the characters on the wiki is the messiest of all aspects of the wiki. I have come up with a multi-step process that will address the following: * Layout of character articles * Layout of character lists * Definitions of main, major, and minor characters * Sourcing the names of minor background characters Instead of going ahead and creating a better layout for character articles and lists, the first thing we must do is actually identify characters, episode by episode, book by book, and video game by video game. This includes all minor characters and background characters as well. We have over 300 episodes to work with finding all characters. I have noticed that many users are prone to try and give every background character a name, some who have multiple names. I personally do like to identify background characters by there name, but we must acknowledge that many background characters do not have names. The first step in the clean-up process is identifying all characters from every book, episode, and video game. We will start with characters that appear in the episodes. We will start with Help Wanted, and work our way in order. The MASTER CHARACTER LIST will have a section heading for each character in order of appearance. We will also include background characters. ALL UNNAMED CHARACTERS WILL BE GIVEN A NUMBER. Every character must be given an ID number. Any character without a name will be known as "Character #n" where n = the number of the character. To create a uniform system, we will start by numbering each character in order of appearance/mention/voice. Since "Help Wanted" is the first episode and the French Narrator speaks before anyone else, before he even mentions SpongeBob by name, the French Narrator is Character #1. As an example, here is how we will number the characters:
