| - Jac Drae was born to an influential Mirialan family, and he grew up as one of the idle rich. As was his wont, he found things to entertain himself, moving from hobby to hobby swiftly. His parents had hopes of him becoming a doctor or lawyer, but those subjects bored him. Instead, he settled on mechanics, quickly becoming fascinated with equipment. This dismayed his parents in a couple ways: mechanics wasn't a high-paying job, but more than that, he was always taking apart their speeders to see how they worked. In the beginning, they just had a mechanic put the speeders back together, but when Jac's attention didn't shift, they eventually resigned themselves to the situation and hired a mechanic to teach him.

At the age of sixteen, Jac took a job at a landing port, repairing starships, and eventually creating things with spare parts. For his seventeenth birthday, he received a speeder from his parents. It was a basic speeder, nothing fancy about it, but after only six months he had it feeling like a luxury speeder and running like a racer. It was here that he showed an aptitude for flying, getting into illegal races and winning more than he lost. His main focus, though, stayed on mechanics. At the age of 18, he was accepted into higher-level education programs on mechanics, where he was recruited by members of the Mirialan Defense Force. He still did mechanical work, but his main focus was now demolitions; he was now capable of building and breaking things in big ways. He continued with the Defense Force for a couple more years, but they weren't at war with anyone, or even on a state of alert. He grew bored with it, and found himself spending time in the flight simulators. One day, a pilot was lounging nearby, watching the various sims, and saw how Jac did. Impressed, he suggested a transfer into the fighter corps; after quite a bit of thought, Jac decided to do so. He became bored even more quickly with his one, for the same reasons, and began examining his options. Other than being easily bored, he enjoyed the military, so he began looking around at other options. Two that came to the forefront of his attention were the Empire and the New Republic; each had a high-profile military and a large number of active missions at any given time. After careful consideration, he decided to try joining the New Republic military.Family
Jac's mother, Moria Drae, was born Moria Nayin, child of two powerful politicians. She met Dakkef Drae - the son of a rich, influential family - in school, and the two became fast friends. Over the years, their parents became friends as well as partners in the political circles. For some reason, they came to the idea that having their children marry would be good for their cause. Raised to put the needs of the family above their own, reluctantly agreed. Over time, they grew to love each other and have a son, who they named Jac.
