  • The Bar is a mythical artifact from the past, in Calliatian history/mythology. The Bar is not specifically associated with any religious context, but is nevertheless an integral part of Calliatian culture, and is considered by most Calliatians to be a very spiritual artifact/concept which demands solemn respect. Ridiculing the concept of The Bar in the presence of a Calliatian will usually result in a hostile, violent reaction from that Calliatian. Most current and former Calliatians engaged in Imperial military service wear an image of The Bar (a solid black rectangle with 5:1 dimensions) on the outer right thigh of the trousers of the military uniform.
  • Film director and explorer James Cameron attempts to, and succeeds in raising the bar from the depths of the ocean. The Bar was so low, 16,000 feet, that it went far below the ocean and was lower than any human had ever gone. His crew of the USS James Cameron believed The Bar to be a concept and metaphor. When James Cameron goes to "Raise the Bar", he encounters musician Randy Newman trying to lower it even more so he can continue to get work singing his songs in movies. The two fight and James Cameron brings The Bar back up to a reasonable height.

There has been no reputable evidence of The Bar having been seen within the past 1000 years, although rumors persist that Sil currently "wields" The Bar. The description of The Bar which is considered to be the most accurate is thus: A cylinder of pure black material, which reflects no light. The dimensions are 5:1, length:diameter. It is generally thought that the length of The Bar is about 30 centimeters, although there is no evidence other than purported eyewitness reports to support this. The Bar is suspected to be an ancient SAI entity, possibly the result of a merger of an organic consciousness or multiple organic consciousnesses with an SAI. Calliatian mythology holds that The Bar is capable of simply erasing entire solar systems from existence, and can bend the collective will of an entire species to its Own will. Sil has never denied that he "wields" The Bar, and when commanded to produce The Bar for examination, Sil has always stated, "It is not within my power to command the appearance of The Bar. The Bar appears and disappears at its own pleasure." Sil has used The Bar... at least according to common interpretation... for the purpose of furthering his own goal of exterminating the Toleaken species. Sil also admits that he has used, and will use, The Bar... for that purpose.

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama is hosting the First Lady's Symposium on Obesity, where Cartman is wrestling Honey Boo Boo in "sketti". When the bar is lifted, Michelle Obama realizes that what is happening is wrong. She then declares she will try to fight child obesity and literally beats up Cartman.
