The Airdrome Captain is one of Queen Azura's higher ranking soldiers on the planet Mars. Responsible for the Airdrome, he is effectively in charge of security, supervising all personnel arriving at or leaving from the royal palace and its environs. Perhaps because he had previously been crossed by Flash Gordon, he is one of the few Martians not to join the Earthman's cause following the death of Queen Azura, instead choosing to follow Ming the Merciless. Curiously, the helmet worn by the Airdrome Captain is identical to those sported by Ming's soldiers on Mongo.
