The Greek city-states never grew much beyond city-states in OTL, but in this TL the Greek city-states came together under their central government in Corinth and created a vast empire. At the time of the Punic Wars there were four major superpowers in the Mediterranean: Rome, Carthage, Ptolemaic Egypt, and Greece. In OTL, Greek mercenary warriors aided Carthage and Rome, but because in this TL the Punic Wars never happened and Carthage conquered Egypt, Corinth realized the danger Greece would be in from Rome. In the year 27 B.C.E., Greece formed an empire.
