- CC Sabathia is a major league baseball player. Sabathia was originally drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 2001 and pitched brilliantly for them for several years including winning the Cy Young Award in 2007. As Sabathia approached free agency, it became obvious that he would sign with the highest bidding team rather than remaining in Cleveland. He was traded to the Brewers for one season before signing an enormous contract with the New York Yankees. Upon signing with the Yankees, Sabathia became the highest-paid pitcher in MLB history. Sabathia had never had more losses than wins in a season before 2014. His performance began to dip in 2013 and his 2014 season ended following knee surgery on his right knee in May 2014. He is a 6-time All Star Selection and a World Series Champion (2009).
