| - The Chery star system was comprised of a single yellow main-sequence star, called Chery, and three planets - Chering, Cherzor, and Cherala. The system was inconsequential through most of galactic history, as it was self-sufficient, with little to offer to other systems and little that it needed. Agriculture primarily took place on Cherzor, with mining operations and some industry on the Chering colonies. The system had a small fleet of ships that functioned more as a police entity than a military one; its primary objectives were to keep pirates and smugglers away, and to prevent prisoners from escaping. This system became famous at the time it was destroyed. The Dantooine virus had infected all of the colonies in the Doldur Asteroid Belt, and three refugees trapped in the quarantined colonies managed to escape. Two died en route to their destinations, but a man bound for Cherzor was able to land his ship before dying in the cockpit. The local police force searched the ship and found his body, and thus the virus began to spread. Everything on Cherzor was killed, and the infection spread to the colonies, although it did not leave the system.
