  • The Messiah War is basically a big battle over the most recently born mutant, Hope Summers. Bishop believes Hope causes all mutants to be put into internment camps, which causes the death of his whole family in the future. Cable believes Hope is the mutant race's salvation, and the only being who can save the race from extinction. So Bishop and Cable battle throughout time (they're both time travelers), and Bishop ends up pulling Stryfe, (Cable's clone) into the mix, while Cable's dad (Cyclops), sends Wolverine's team into the future, and they all are in a huge war now over Hope. This takes place after the House of M event, so thats why its such a big deal.
