| - Nereus is a Great Elder who tried to prevent Perenelle Flamel from leaving Alcatraz. He was worshiped by the ancient Greeks as the original Old Man of the Sea. He was killed by Black Hawk in The Enchantress.
- Nereus is the Greek god of the sea's rich bounty of fish, but he is better known as the "Old Man of the Sea" and is said to know everything, even tidbits of information concealed from the Oracle of Delphi. Like many of the other sea-gods, Nereus was a master shapeshifter, however, not much is known about his past, though he claims to have existed before Poseidon, which whom he calls an "upstart", stating that "I was here first!" If captured, he will allow his captor to ask him one question.

- Nereus is a Global Moderator on the AstroEmpires Forum. He originally was moderator for Alpha servers Politics and war, Guild Recruitment, Trade Routes and Tavern boards but became Global and no longer moderates any specific boards. Belenus now moderates the Alpha boards.

- Nereus was spying on the Lankester. He killed a crew member, Crawford, to avoid being seen. He swam through a breach in the ship and spied on the Sixth Doctor and Callany. He brought the Doctor down into his realm and returned his TARDIS. Nereus returned to the ship and, with his people, killed De Requin. He then collected Galliteya from the Doctor and Peri Brown. - Crown Prince Nereus is a triton. He is the son of Neptune, the King of the Seas on Andros and of Ligea, Queen of mermaids, and is the brother of Tressa and is the twin brother of Tritannus, who is the main antagonist in Season 5. He is also the cousin of Aisha and the nephew of Teredor and Niobe. When his father chose to name him as heir to the throne, his jealous brother Tritannus disrupted the ceremony and was sent to prison.
- Nereus (Ancient Greek: Νηρευς) was the eldest son of Pontus (the Sea) and Gaia (the Earth), who with Doris fathered the fifty Nereids and Nerites, with whom Nereus lived in the Aegean Sea. He was the old man of the seas, and of the sea's rich bounty of fish. He was believed, like other marine divinities, to have the power of prophesying the future and of appearing to mortals in different shapes, and in the story of Heracles he acts a prominent part. Nereus appears in few myths, but he is important nonetheless.
