The River Agathar is one of the four Great Rivers of Hutori. It begins at Lake Murogni (Central Lagard) in Lagard, then carries on 42 miles to the north. Of the four Great Rivers, it is by far and away the shortest. Whereas the other three are highly angerous because of high winds and horrible currents, the River Agathar is dangerous because t is a particularly bendy river. Without proper training it is very easy to cause yourself serious harm, or even end your life. Currently there are three settlements, Secor, Freeton and Georgesmith down the River Agathar.

In 1427, a reward was offered to any Hutorian willing to cleanse the last few Mashacaran states in Central and Southern Lagard and Southern Adelia. Henry Agathar, a landowner hired 350 mercenaries and cleansed the Mashacaran settlements along the river. (It was known by the Mashacarans as 'Resuni Farbas' after their demigod of water) As a reward, Henry was made Lord of The Agathar, the river being named after him. The fief consisted of the whole River Agathar and three miles of bank on all sides. The fief still exists to this day. The owner of The Agathar typically charges £45 for a boat ride down the River Agathar, making it the only river in Hutori to have a charge levied. As such, this charge puts off several amateur boaters. However, the ardent boaters out to conquer all four Great Rivers frequently visit the River Agathar, because of it's great location and views. The River Agathar is the ninth most dangerous river in the Northern Hemisphere. Currently there are three settlements, Secor, Freeton and Georgesmith down the River Agathar.
