Tamlen Hawke was a Jedi Knight born in the year 37 BBY. Tamlen was the youngest member of the wealthy Hawke Family on the planet Amaranthine. He was taken to the Jedi Temple at the age of 7 when he was discovered by Jedi Knight Plo Koon. He was assigned to Jedi Master Kit Fisto and began his training. During his Jedi training he became good friends with Anakin Skywalker and his older cousin Nolan Hawke. Tamlen became Nolan's closest friend and confidant. He was the only person that Nolan revealed his secret love for fellow Jedi Gwen Tenas. During the Clone Wars Tamlen was a tactical genius and was essential to winning several key battles. He soon became known for his unorthodox methods. He managed to survive when Order 66 was issued.

He soon became known for his unorthodox methods. He managed to survive when Order 66 was issued. During the Dark Times he traveled the galaxy with Nolan and Gwen, posing as smugglers. Tragedy struck when Gwen was murdered by Darth Vader and Conor watched helpless. Tamlen learned that it was all a ploy engineered by Emperor Palpetine to turn Nolan to the dark side. He resisted and narrowly escaped.Shortly after, he and Tamlen had to race to prevent the extremly powerful sith Lord Darth Azaroht from being resurrected by the empire. This culminated in a duel between Nolan and the Azaroht possessed Tamlen. Tamlen briefly took control and commited suicide. Tamlen's death devastated Nolan but he came to believe that Tamlen died a hero.
