In the Blacklands too, they lived. In what are now the Snaz-ul Mountains they dwelt, digging deep into the Earth. They loved the stars, but more so, they loved the Earth and the darkness beneath it. They loved the Earth for the jewels it gave them as they dug deeper and deeper. Great cities they made here, Kurak was the chief of these cities. It is said that they were made by the sprit of the Earth herself, so that they might overlook it, and as a reward they will have any of its treasures they desire.

Great cities they made here, Kurak was the chief of these cities. Their leader was Khail, a master of axe and shovel. The tallest dwarf he was. (It is said that in the beginning, Dwarfs were tall, and that their countless time underground made them forget to walk upright, and thus they got shorter.)
